The village of Saint-Gence, which is part of the Limoges area,
has a population of 2,000.
It is situated in the Glane Valley. This is a very old site,
which has been populated since the Gallic period. Numerous
archaeological objects were found during work on the site
(potteries and amphora’s) and typical names from the
period still exist (“Camp de Cesar”). It was one
of the most importance gallic cities of the region.
The church is from the 13th and 15th centuries and is an historical
monument with a superb “mise au tombeau” or tomb.
Saint-Gence is known for its woods and lakes, which offer
a lot of possibilities of walks and rides.
